Our pre press department is equipped with the Apple G5 Workstations, the latest versions of all the major software packages such as Quark Express and the Adobe Creative Suite. We out put to plates via our Agfa Apogee or Odystar workflow delivering files direct to our Agfa Avalon platesetter.

Colour Management

Calibration at regular intervals is essential for colour consistency from device to device and from proof to proof, in that a re-proof two months later has the same colour integrity as the earlier proof. This is achieved by using Gretag Macbeth Spectrophotometry, measuring up to 1400 different colour patches to achieve a profile that fits the printing process, including sheetfed, web offset, gravure, flexography and letterpress. Via our Iris proofers we can achieve accurate Pantone matches and simulate various substrate characteristics. Some proofing devices work to a Delta E accuracy of between 4 and 8, at Technik we work to a Delta E value of 2 or lower giving highly accurate proof to press results.

Proofing

Technik utilise various devices for proofing, including Epson and Agfa Sherpa. Each of these devices have their own strengths and weaknesses, and we advise our clients on the best system for their purpose.
